Donna Elaine Baxter, 85, passed away on October 28, 2017 in Parkdale Care Center, Price Utah; after a short battle with cancer.

Donna was born on September 30, 1932 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Oliver and Bernice Fiedler. She married the love of her life James Baxter on October 18, 1980 in Reno Nevada.

Donna worked in the Moroni turkey plant for many years. She moved to Huntington in 1974. She was one of the first woman coal miners in Carbon and Emery County. Once married Donna moved to Daly City, California. She was a devoted member of the River Bluffs Church and took pride in helping others. She later moved to Carson City, Nevada. After the passing of her husband, she eventually moved back to Huntington, Utah, where she enjoyed the last years of her life reconnecting with her family.                 

Donna is survived by her children: Marie Covington of Provo Utah, Kathy Handy of Salt Lake City, Utah, David (Veronica) Ames of Huntington, Utah, and Jimmy Barber of Huntington, Utah. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by parents Oliver and Bernice Fiedler, brothers Edwin and Gene Fiedler, husband James Baxter, and daughter Dorene Lund.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Heritage Funeral Home, 620 N Main Huntington, Utah at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services.
