Carlos Gutierrez Obituary

Carlos Gutierrez

Carlos Gutierrez returned home to our Heavenly Father on March 27, 2018. He was born March 15, 1975 in Price, Utah to Raymond and Marie Gutierrez and was the youngest of eight children.

He later met his high school sweetheart, Erika Mendoza. Together they had four children.

Almost since he was born, Carlos fell in love with the great outdoors. As a small child, dad would take him out exploring the desert, hiking, camping, fishing and riding 4-wheelers. Since then he was hooked. As a child, his partners in crime were his sister “Magoo” along with his nieces, Stephanie, Barbie and Katrina. Being close in age, they all grew up together and had many fun adventures. As an adult he bought himself a Jeep Wrangler. He was always finding himself a “new” dirt road to explore. As a large family, we were always together on our expeditions just loving life and breathing the fresh air. Carlos was very proud of the fact that he too learned how to play the guitar like his dad and is older brothers. He loved music.

Carlos was so giving, always checking in with family that he hadn’t heard from in a while. His personality was hilarious, always full of jokes to whoever would listen. He loved to make people laugh and feel comfortable.

Carlos got Type 1 diabetes as a child and suffered with it the rest of his life. Carlos was such a strong inspiration to every one of us. He fought a long battle and stayed strong to the end, until his body could no longer fight the fight. His only wish was to live long enough to see his children reach adulthood. God granted him his wish.

Carlos is survived by his 4 children: Dominic Gutierrez (Maya Badback), Austin Gutierrez, Raymond Gutierrez (Cassie Connor), Angelica Gutierrez. Also survived by 4 sisters and 2 brothers: Terri (Stephen) Manzanares, Steve (Jean) Gutierrez, Debbie Gutierrez, Judy Gutierrez, Paul (Grace) Gutierrez, Rosemarie (Rojelio) Cortez. Also survived by numerous niece, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and many cousins. His cousin Matt held a special place in his heart. Surviving uncle: John Gutierrez, and surviving aunts: Stella Gutierrez, Betty Martinez, Frances Rankin, Frieda Montoya.

Preceded in death by both parents, brother Ricky Gutierrez, grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Christian Center (925 East Main St, Price, UT). Burial will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery in Helper, Utah.
