Kathleen Norman Nielson

2/2/1970 – 6/12/2017

Our lovely and vivacious Kathleen was released from this life on June 12, 2017 in Huntington, Utah.  She was born on February 2, 1970 in Burlingame, California to Monte and Carol Norman.  Kathleen was the 4th daughter of 9 children.

Kathleen was a happy and joyful child with a propensity to conversation and could talk to anyone with ease.  Kathleen spent her childhood enjoying the sun, sand and pines of Lake Tahoe, Nevada.  She was a true romantic and loved to read and write poetry.  She also loved music, gardening, word puzzles, board games, jewelry and dressing up.  As a young girl, Kathleen spent many happy hours dreaming about having her own home, garden and family.

After high school, Kathleen married and moved to Colorado.  She was blessed with 2 wonderful children, Marcus and Brittany.  She liked adventure and traveled often.  She had the opportunity to live in Idaho and California.  During this time, she divorced her first husband and moved to Utah.  Kathleen resided for a short while in Payson, Utah.

Kathleen met Kent Nielson in 2002 and married on October 13, 2012.  Kathleen struggled with the effects of Myotonic Dystrophy yet always did her best to remain upbeat, bubbly and helpful.  Kent was her caregiver for the 15 years they were together and kept her moving and as healthy as possible.  He will miss his little Dove.  She will be missed by all that knew her.  She was a very giving and generous soul who gave her all to those around her.

She is survived by her husband Kent, children Marcus and Brittany, mother Carol, siblings Rochelle, Lynessa, Carol, Heather, Katrina, Erik and Monique, a great multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, mother-in-law Glyda Nielson, sister-in-law Nan and family, step-daughters Stephanie and Valerie, and grandbabies Peyton and Liam.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Robert and Eunice Woodley, Walter Norman, Leola and step-grandfather Rex Blakeslee, father Monte R. Norman and younger brother Monte W. Norman.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 23, 2017 at 11:00 am at Heritage Funeral Home, 620 North Main, Huntington, Utah with a viewing one hour prior.  Interment will follow at the Huntington City Cemetery entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home.  Family and friends may sign the guestbook and share memories of Kathleen at www.heritagefuneralhomeutah.com.
