Melvin Packard Beardall, age 87, passed away from natural illness on October 19, 2015 in the Orem Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Orem. He was born in Springville, Utah October 8, 1928 to Alvin Romanzo and Sarah Leota Scott Beardall. Melvin was a graduate of Springville High School and lived in Springville, Utah. He married Margaret Yuvone Mitchell in Springville at his parent's home on October 14, 1953. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple. They moved from Springville to the family home in Mapleton where they resided. Margaret preceded him in death while living in Lawrence, Utah where he has resided for almost 20 years. On November 22, 2014 in Huntington, Utah he married Ila Rae Brinkerhoff. Melvin was a heavy equipment operator at Geneva Steel for 35 years. His passion was the outdoors. He loved hunting and especially loved to travel around and visit his children and family.

Melvin is survived by his wife Ila Rae Beardall of Huntington, and his children Gary L & Ann Beardall of Provo, Brent M & Connie Beardall of Spanish Fork, Tamra Hardman of Springville, Russell K & Helen Beardall of Payson, Lynette & Rob Carter of Orem, Debra & Troy Vincent of Springville, and a step daughter Janice & Richard Mecham of Pleasant Grove, 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Jeanette Jones of Orem. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret, 3 grandchildren, 5 brothers and 8 sisters.

A viewing will be held at the Heritage Funeral Home in Huntington, Utah on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Huntington 1st Ward Chapel located at 115 S 400 E in Huntington. A viewing will be held an hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be held at 3:00 pm that afternoon in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah.
